Growth of freight transport in Uzbekistan: benefits for owners of commercial vehicles

Uzbekistan’s logistics sector continues to grow, creating increasing demand for freight transport and, along with it, new opportunities for carriers.

Import transportation is growing faster than exports

The number of requests to deliver cargo to Uzbekistan from other countries increased by 72% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, while the increase compared with the previous quarter was 56%. This is a direct signal of growing demand for carriers and transport to handle increasing cargo volumes.

Foreign trade continues to expand

In January–May 2026, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $32.76 billion, 3.7% more than a year earlier. Growing trade turnover means more cargo that needs to be received, cleared through customs, delivered and distributed within the country — creating a direct demand for road transport.

What does this mean for business?

Growing cargo volumes are not just abstract macroeconomics, but a concrete signal for transport companies and entrepreneurs: demand for reliable trucks for domestic and cross-border logistics continues to grow. This is especially true for vans and medium-duty flatbed trucks, which are commonly used to distribute goods from customs terminals to final points of sale.

In these conditions, having your own transport rather than relying on rented or outsourced vehicles becomes a competitive advantage — the company is less dependent on third-party carriers and can plan its logistics more flexibly.
