Growth of E-Commerce in Uzbekistan: New Demand for Delivery Vans

E-commerce in Uzbekistan is experiencing explosive growth — and along with it, demand is growing for transport to deliver goods from warehouses to customers.

Scale of Growth

The number of e-commerce platforms in the country increased from 36 at the beginning of 2024 to 115 by the beginning of 2026. According to an analysis of the information economy sector, from 2019 to 2024, the value added created in the e-commerce segment increased 78-fold — while the country’s nominal GDP grew by only 2.5 times over the same period.

Why This Matters for Commercial Transport

Every marketplace order is not just a click, but a physical delivery of goods, and most often not a single delivery but an entire transportation chain: from the seller to a distribution warehouse, and from the warehouse to a pickup point or directly to the customer. The growth in the number of platforms and sales volumes directly increases the pressure on last-mile logistics.

What Vehicles Are Needed for Delivery

For distribution logistics within cities and regions, compact and manoeuvrable vans are most often required — with enough cargo capacity for several orders per trip, while remaining economical in urban driving cycles with frequent stops. For distributors handling large batches of goods, larger panel vans are more relevant.

What This Means for Logistics Companies

Companies serving marketplaces and online stores are increasingly building their own delivery fleets instead of relying on one-off contractors — giving them greater control over delivery times and costs. Amid the rapid growth of the sector, fleet renewal is becoming not a one-time task but an ongoing process.
